a new album DONE!

I finished this beautiful album last week and I’ve been dying to show it to you.  The weather has been pretty wet here this week and that doesn’t make for good photos.  But… I decided I couldn’t wait any longer and I would settle with whatever I got.  So, without further ado…

The Love This! Vertical Paper Bag Mini

This album was so fun to make.  It’s one of my most interactive albums yet.  I’m really loving this style of paper crafting and expect to be doing a lot more of it in the future.  It was a blast!

So I’ll tell you some of the things I used to make this project.  First off, I used a tutorial for a vertical paper bag mini album from Ginger at mysistersscrapper on Youtube.  For papers and embellishments I used mostly items from the Cocoa Daisy Candy Shoppe kit and the Memory Works Express April kit.  Here and there I used an extra ribbon or paper from my stash.  The little clasps on the cover are from an old  Stampin’ Up! set of hardware.  The covers were made with some recycled chipboard from the back of a paper pad or something.  Seriously, re-use that stuff!

The spine is kinda plain now that I look at it so I may do something with that later to jazz it up.  The kraft paper just seemed like the best option.

These charms were fun to make!  This is the first time I’ve added anything chunky like that to my albums and I am loving the look of it.  I made these with my stash of beads I had tucked away.  The ribbons are attached with a grommet through the spine.

Each right side page has a fold out attached.

I wish you could see all the interactive bits here better.  The kraft squares are fold out mats and as you can see here, I’ve included two tri-fold mats to the right fold for lots of pictures.

Here again, I’ve added another fold out with even more mats clipped to the inside.  I like all the real estate for photos in this album.  If I’m going to make an album I want it to be useful as well as fun.  vertical paper bag mini album fold 5

I love the waterfall on the back cover.  These are perfect size for instagrams and you’ve got room for 11 of them on this one page!  Ginger is amazing and I love her albums and other projects.  They are so creative and beautiful!   Her tutorials are very easy to follow too.  As a matter of fact, my 12 year old daughter made an album along with me.

I’ll show you her album in my next post.

I hope you enjoyed the album and got some ideas for your own projects.  Be sure to check out Ginger at mysistersscrapper.  Also, try the kits from Cocoa Daisy and MemoryWorks

Have a great day!

  1. Nice job, very eclectic! Kind of makes me think of a retro kitchen with the teals, greens, pinks and golds. I like it!
